Heinie hartwig
I bought an unframed painting from an estate sale similar to the Indian paintings that Hartwig produced. Did he always sign his name? Mine is unsigned.

Early in his career Heinie lived in San Jose. I have two painting he gave to our family. He did sign by his first name only in the early days. He also painted wildflowers, thistles and barnyard settings. I know because that is what we have.

I have a large painting that is in the Heinie Hartwig style. It is signed in the right bottom corner Heinie. Was there a time in his career when he signed this way. I don't want to represent it as an original HH if it's not. Thanks to anyone that can help.

My mother bought a Heinie painting in the 1970's in Columbia, blue & orange abstract of hummingbirds in flight, I believe. Anyone else know anything about this painting?

Heine Hartwig (something different)
My parents own a painting signed by Hartwig. It is of a hillside with an old milk can among flowers. The signature looks correct and the colors are very similar to those used on his encampment paintings. Would someone know if he did paint such subjects?

Why is the spelling of his name different lately? I have paintings of his as Heine (the correct spelling in German)but lately people here spell it Heinie.
I'm curious, bordering on suspicious.

Heinie Hartwig Seascape
I have a 24x30 original purchased in Santa Clara, CA around 1971 and wonder if it's a true Hartwig painting. It's signed only with "Heinie" in lower left..looks alot like area around Monterey, CA. Any leads?
