I see his full printed name on night Hawks painted in 1942? I wonder why...........thanks for the help

House By The Rairoad Tess, re: your question posted 8/28/2001 - I believe Hopper said he painted House by the Railroad "out of his head", that is, out of his imagination.

Edward Hopper autograph I have recently come upon a copy of the exhibition catalog for Edward Hopper's 1950 traveling retrospective at the Whitney, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and Detroit Institute of Arts. It is inscribed in pencil to a visitor to the exhibition and dated 25 March 1950, the penultimate day of the Whitney installation. I am curious as to the value of this sort of thing, as Hopper signatures seem rather scarce.

Night Shadows I have an etching by Hopper called Night Shadows, which was part of a portfolio printed on 1924. I also thought there was a smaller edition of the etching in 1921. Clarification please.

Edward Hopper's work I am looking for information on one of his work, black and white, woman sitting in front of sewing machine, looking through a window, a hand on the wheel of the sewing machine. I have this piece, it is signed, Edward Hopper, on right side, but it has written: Repro, on the left side. I wonder if it was signed by him.

I'm wondering if theres a connection between the bulding in the painting with the Historic Southgate House located in Newport Kentucky. If anyone has any information on Edward Hopper painting or touring through Kentucky or Ohio I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks tess Historicsouthgate@fuse.net
