MORNING LIGHT I have what I believe may be a print of an Anthony Thieme Morning Glory. It is approx. 36x31 and has an eloborate gold wood frame. It also has a light above the frame to illuminate it. It has his signature on the bottom right. It also has a metal plate attached to the bottom of the frame that says "Morning Glory by Anthony Thieme". Would that mean it was in a gallery? Anyone have any info on this?

"Bearskin Neck" by Anthony Thieme I have an old picture titled "Bearskin Neck" and signed A. Thieme in the bottom right hand corner. Can a reproduction/print still have a signature on it? It is framed/special treated and varnished and has the label on the back as being No. 30 Bearskin Neck by Anthony Thieme. I see that others have posed the same kind of question that I have. If it is a print is there still any worth?

MORNING LIGHT BY ANTHONY THIEME I HAVE A 5 X 6 LITHO WITH A SIGNATURE IN THE LOWER LEFT THAT I CAN'T MAKE OUT, BUT THE BOTTOM WHITE TRIM ON THIS PICTURE IS TYPED THE WORDS NO. 330 MORNING LIGHT AND ON THE RIGHT SIDE IT HAS COPYRIGHTED BY ANTHONY THIEME. IS IT HIS WORK?

Is it an early 20th century lithograph or an Anthony Thieme watercolor and Hello,
I have a 25"x30" work signed in print, lower right "A. Thieme".
It is of "Gloucester" harbor, a boat dock, with fishing boats docked and sail boats out in the harbor.
It looks like it is painted with watercolor, gouache, and charcoal.
But I'm not sure...?
With a magnifing glass, I can see that the surface of the color is has tiny little blisters in the thicker color and the varish on the surface is crackled.
Where it is scratched I can see, that the surface color is thick, (not like an ink print).
I've found a similar version of the same painting in oil on canvas that was not signed, but attributed to Anthony Thieme.
The o/c painting that I saw on the internet did not have about a quarter to half an inch of the scene around the edges, that is in the work, that I have.
That is the same amount that is covered by the frame, with the version, that I have.
The version attributed to him, that I saw online, doesn't have the large white and small white sail boats in the background, nor does it have any birds in it, as mine does.
There is also rope on the dock, that is layed out slightly differently.
One very much appears to have painted from the other, or they both were painted from another painting, because much is painted alike.
Can anyone tell me weather or not a watercolor, gouache & charcoal painting has a smooth appearing surface?
You can see clear brush strokes in the various colors, (one mixed with or through the other), but not risen brush strokes in the paint.
It has a a period gilded frame.
Sincerely,
TL

Harold Etter I am interested in finding out if anyone can tell me any information on the relationship between Anthony Thieme and Harold Etter. As I understand it, Harold Etter was his student and then went on the teach as well in the St Augustine colony. I have 2 Harold Etter paintings and would be interested in picking up more if possible. Thanks for any information.

Thieme I have 2 paintings which most likely are reproductions, but they are old. Both have the signature-Thieme-in the lower left corner. One is titled "Aviles Street" and the other "Summer Morning. Both are 12x15 approximately.I cannot find any information on these paintings.I am in no way knowledgable about artwork but if they are reproductions they are in oil and quite good. I love these paintings. Does anyone have any information concerning these 2 works? Please help and Thank you.

Are they Real? How can I tell if the paintings I picked up in a garage sale are real. On is called Early Morning (similar to Baiting, but he wasn't baiting yet), and the other one is Hauling Nets. The number on the back are 203 and 201.

Gotham Hotel Since trying to decode the signature on the litho that I have... and FINALLY having done so,I have researched the works and life of Anthony Thieme. I LOVE his spirit as portrayed through his work. I truly admire his style. I have a lithograph, circa. 1940, which says: Hung in Gotham Hotel, 1947;Rm 1312(now the Peninsula). This print is a variation of Jewett Street and Folly Cove(each just very is slightly different from the other). I am interested in learning more about the 1946 fire that destroyed many of his painting. Thank you for reading this.
