We have a White Mountain landscape signed "E.M. Carpenter" en verso (on the back of the canvas.) We are looking for other White Mountain subjects by the artist for an upcoming exhibit.

My mother was born and raised in Springfield, Ma. She would have been 101this year. Our family has several paintings that we believe to be by Ellen Maria Carpenter.One is a portrait of a man named Harry Green, a son of a friend of my grandmother.It is signed E.M. Carpenter. Theothers are watercolors signed with initialsE.M.C.There is a third painting of my grandmother as a 12 yearold girl which is very like the first portrait but I cannot find a signature.My great grandmother ran a boarding house in Ludlow,Ma. We wonder whether the artist may have stayed there at some point.
