Ryder I love Ryder's work. I just wanted to tell someone.

Ryder's Canvases--Condition It is my understanding that Ryder produced about 160 works in his lifetime, and the reason for the conservation issues rests with his tendency to re-work the canvases.
I would be interested in knowing more of the forgeries mentioned in the AskART biography.

Ryder's Influence Let's compile a list of the artists' influenced by Ryder.
I have the following names and shall hope the AskART readers will add to it.
1. Richard Diebenkorn 2. Marsden Hartley
Ryder also influenced the Abstract Expressionists, but can any site user name specific artists on record for deriving inspiration from Ryder?

Albert Pinkham Ryder Albert's style included thick applications of many coats of paint which weren't given proper time to dry, covered with thick layers of varnish. This caused his paintings to not be capable of lasting very long.
