He's my Great Grandfather E.T. was my great grandfather. His daughter Joan O'Brien was my grandmother. My son is doing a project for school on his Great, Great grandfather. I have one piece and little literature. My grandma was very rpoud of her father and in fact was an artist herself. I'm touched that I'm related to someone whom people hold in such high regard.

answer questions Allen, Your piece is a very early piece. He studied at The Cincinnati Art Academy under Frank Duveneck from 1894-1898. He started a long career with the Rookwood Pottery, in 1896-1950, that was to support his love of etching, but become well known and highly collected artist of his pottery. His etchings were produced from begining to end by hiself. No outside contract printers. He also invented and produced his own pastel crayons and etching ground, that were sold to schools and art supply stores across the midwest.
