I had an opportunity to do research on this wonderful artist. Karl Priebe has one of the most distinctly unique styles of art in this century. It's literally beautiful. The process and style combined with the technique and final image are all one of a kind. His concepts challenge our thought process and allow us to be free and playful in our comprehension of his scenes and figures. I believe that a thousand artists could display their works at once and Karl Priebes work would distinguish it self from the crowd. I feel its highly collectible and terribly underpriced in most scenarios, so if you have a chance to invest, don't pass it up. He was friends with noteworthy dignitries and common people alike. He was forgetten and in my opinion neglected in his latter years due to his struggle with his illness, but well respected by all who encountered him and his work. Im just happy to have had an opportunity to see his masterpieces. He had a great friend named John Wilde (surrealist Wisconsin) who spoke highly of Karl and validated his incredible gift to the world. Feel free to share thoughts questions and comments.

I have recently inherited 10 original Karl Priebe in various forms, some are personally signed for Christmas or birthday gifts. I also have a 1947 Life Magazine with an article in it on Karl Priebe. In addition, several cards sent by the artist. I do not know much about art - feedback is welcome!

Karl Priebe print
I have inherited a Karl Priebe original signed by him in 1974. It is a watercolor (I think) of a bird with what appears snow falling. Any ideas or suggestions as to how to find information on this particular origianl. It also has been framed.

I have several Karl Priebe originals. One was given to to me by the artist himself and it is signed. I do not know anyone else who collects his art.
