Remembering gramps I was thinking today about all that my grandfather taught me about art. About how in my life's journey, I've worked in many different styles of art. Sometimes through studies of the masters or working with interior designers who would ask me to paint in various styles and subject matter. At this time in my life, I find myself coming home to what my gramps taught me. And it feels good.

Remembering the early days I remember Ralph Love coming as a speaker to my father's church in San Diego. He would play his violin and then paint a picture. What talent he had and what a humble man he was. He gave a couple of small paintings to my parents but I think they were returned to his daughter, Lee. I will always remember him. I want to visit the Youngman gallery this summer and hopefully see some of his work as well as Paul Youngman's.

Art Shack Property in Temecula My name is Chris Baily. I now own the property that the Art Shack was on. My wife and I have built a restaurant and have a courtyard that we do special parties on. I am contemplating naming it Love's Courtyard or something similar. I am also really enjoying learning more about Ralph and would like to pay a bigger tribute to him throughout our property. It appears that Ralph and the Art Shack was a much bigger deal than I previously realized. I would love to have suggestions from anyone interested in giving one.

Meeting Ralph Love (Bud LaMonk) As Ralph Love's youngest daughter, I love hearing stories about my Dad. I also knew Bud LaMonk's father, who was an incredible artist and good friend of Ralph Love. I represented both of these wonderful artists during their lifetime, and still have my father's work.

Meeting Ralph Love In the early l960's I wandered into Mr.Love's Art Shack in Temecula, Ca. not knowing anything about him. As I walked about the shop and looked at his work he came up to me and asked "do you see anything that you like"? I replied,"yes, all of it". He asked if would like to buy something and I replied it would be nice but I couldn't afford it. Well, he discounted a paintng to me for $75.00, because he knew my Dad, and I gave him $25.00 down and $25. a month. A few months later, I bought a second painting for $125.00 at the same terms. A year or so later, I boughtd another painting for $750.00 and paid cash. Ralph and his wife and I became fast friends. I think of him daily as I walk by his paintings.
