they dont think it worth alot

My brother-in-law also has a large painting signed by AmBrose (in white bottom right-hand corner. It shows the stern of third-rate Naval gun ship (ship were rated by the number of crew they carried, then later by the number of guns). The vessel is following another vessel of the same class. Therefore both ships of the line. Both have the Red Ensign flying on the stern and higher up a red pennant.

i have what appears to be an ols oil on canvas painting of a ship in the sea with full masts,2 seaguls each side and although i am certainly no expert it appears to be by a very good artist,i wont rule out water colour as i say i am no expert.it is 8 inches by 9 approx ,please can anyone shed somr light on the subject.thankyou for taking the time to read this peter

Just purchased small oil or acrylic on canvas of a square rigged 2 masted Ship probably a brig in full square rig sail with a trailing red pennant at sea with 2 seagulls in the foreground.

Two Tall Ship Paintings
I found two tall three-mast ships signed "AmBrose". The paitings are very detailed and the detail of the light shimmering of the ship sails is beautiful. I do not make a habit of owning art but had to have these two oil on canvas paintings. If any one knows anything about this guy, please post a listing. It seems the painter was very prolific and obviously very talented. If anyone can tell me more about this artist and the era it was painted in I would be very grateful.

Ambrose Boats on the shore
Trying to trace the history behind an oil painting signed Ambrose in white in the bottom right corner. It is a scene of two rowing boats moored on a beach with a montain on the horizon & a cluster of buildings in the distance. Very similar to the Bay of Naples scene.
Any ideas? Or did you once own this painting?

Hello I have a seascape signed AmBrose. Oil on canvas 6 [*] 8.Several yachts and seagulls, trees and derelict small wooden docks. looks like Manhattan skyscrapers in the foggy background. Does anyone know who the artist is?

Greetings, I have a 4"x4"3/4 watercolour of a mountain stream with a cluster of pine trees to the right. It apears to be a watercolour study for a larger painting. It is painted loosly with blues,green brown and black. I feel it is a maquette. There is a signature printed in bold capitals in black ink or watercolour in the lower left.
There is a date 21-9-16 on the back in pencil..with other mat information. Would appreciate seeing a sample of artist signature to compare..looking for assistance.thankyou
