Lecoque In the 70's Lecoque lived in Hollywood, I worked in construction. My boss and I build a Gallerie in the back of his house, I saw him everyday and spoke to him quite often.I told him that I did a lot of charcoal work and he actually took me upstairs to his studio. He said that he would love to teach me more about his medium, but that never happened. However I did have the honor of collecting his art work from his gallerie on La cienega Blvd. loaded it in a rented truck to his new gallerie, what a thrill, me and my girlfriend did take him out to eat one day.He wanted to go to the country club in Hollywood. So we go to pick him up, knock on the door,no answer I look in the mail slot on the door and there he is all dressed up sitting on the chair... sleeping. We did go to eat but he wanted a hamburger from Bob's Big boy ,thats where we ended up, he really enjoyed it. When the job was over, he gave me a signed and numbered Lithograph copy of one of his paintings, still have to this day.

Alois Lecoque In the 50's Lecoque lived across the street from our family home in Bluebird Canyon in Laguna Beach. He lived in a studio owned by Mrs. Kift. He fit right in with the sleepy art colony of Laguna, and he taught me how to play chess.

alois leqoque I purchased a watercolor in Carmel in 1973 by him, 7/15. A Paris street scene. There was a pamphlet listing the Kennedys and Eisenhauers as collectors of his work

Alois Lecoque I met Lecoque and purchased a painting and 2 books from him. He was a warm and fuzzy kinda guy and loved women and wine. can't believe it has been 40 years. How time flies.

Alois Lecoque The artist Alois Lecoque was a friend of my father's many years ago. He is originally from Czechoslovakia & his last name was Kohout-which he changed to a French translation-Lecoque when he was living in France. My father lent him some money & received a small landscape, in watercolor from him in return. It still hangs in my living room today.
