I bought an old manilla envelope at a thrift store that reads in front...a collection of six beautiful prints ready for framing painted by Lloyd Harting exclusively for IML freight inc depicting freighting in the early days.The prints are all western style. Does anyone have any info on this? thank you, Nina

My parents were lifelong friends of Mr. Harting. He gave them a watercolor, done in 1942 of a pirate being left on a island.He also gave them a oil painting done in 1966 of a Calif. coastal scene. We also have his sketchbook of the Calif. Missions. These will remain in the family. If there is any information on where his work is displayed, we would be glad to loan them to certified galleries or museums for display. Thank you Thomas Marquardt

Railroad etchings
I have a friend that inherited four framed etchings by Lloyd Harting. She was told that the etchings are on 24 carat gold. They are the railroad drawings "the San Gabriel", "the JB Stephens", "the General Sherman" and "the Jupiter". She thinks they are originals, since they were originally given to a top engineer by the President of the Southern Pacific Railroad in the 1960's. However, I saw a set of prints on "metalic background" on ebay with a starting bid at $4.99. Are there a bunch of these out there? Could my friend possibly have originals?

Does anyone have information on a copy of a charcoal/pencil drawing I have by Lloyd Harting. It was bought some years ago either in New Zealand or here in Australia. It has Parliament Hill/La Colline du Parlement . Ottawa on the left side (facing) and Lloyd Harting 16 on the right side. all written on the border outside the actual picture.

I have a Lloyd Harting watercolor from 1946. The picture is of a beautiful Pinup girl advertising war bonds and holding a bowling score sheet. Reads La Cienega Lanes Home of the Fox Studio League. Canadian Scenes numbered in rhand corner by Lloyd Harting
I just purchased 2 Canadian scenes by this artist - Fishing Hamlet - Maritimes (which is actually Peggy's Cove NS #11) and Delta Marshes - Manitoba #15. They have the look of charcoal. Does anyone have info on these? Are they Charcoal drawings or repos of paintings?

Lloyd Harting Cover Illustrations
I've come across 2 copies of the 20th Century Studio Club publication "Action" from May 1944 and December 1944. These somewhat suggestive newsletter/magazine covers were illustrated by Lloyd Harting during his employment with 20th Century Fox. This was subsequent to his employment with Disney, where he was one of the art directors on "Bambi".
Does anyone have any additional information as to his years with both Disney and Fox? Would like to hear from anyone who has an interest in his work. Would also like to find out if they have any value......

I have a painting that looks original. It says "one of a series depicting freighting in the early days painted expressley for IML Freight Inc."
Can anyone tell me anything about it? Did they mass produce paintings, like copies? It looks and has the feel (via its surface) that it may be original. I am not a art collector.
Any help or pointing me to a web site that can is appreciated.
