A Fine Artist
It is interesting to watch the emergence in the market place of artists like Rolla Taylor who are much better craftsmen than an enormously popular artist like Salinas. It is a credit to art dealers to make available the work of artists like Taylor and Clara Pancoast so that their work can be evaluated for their quality in comparison with better-known artists who did not really have the taste, skill and sophistication of these early Texas artists. It is great for art history in the state and for the collectors of Texas art.
