When I was about 8, Agnes did my portrait in pastels in Farmington New Mexico. I was told she was down on her luck and stayed in my dad's hotel there, in exchange for the portrait. This might not be true. I did not know she was so well regarded. It is a great portrait, but a bit stylized. I like it.
