I purchase a painting at a thrift store 15 years ago and just deside today to look at the back of it to see who the painter was and the name twilight valley by p. r. kensetwas on the back it date back to 1945 beautiful painting

I have a painting of the Hudson, looking north, with West Point to the left of the picture. Who can I contact to varify that this is an authentic original painting by Kensett? Incidentally, I have not see any reproductions of this piece on any of the site that offer reproductions of Kensett's work, thus I am more certain of its original quality.

I have a print of Twilight Valley also by P.R. Kenset, and on the back of picture it also has 5-Apr. 1945 then underneath is has O.B. Pechin. Please I would like some info on this.

I ask a question early and I wrote the wrong statment down on the back of the Kensett painting on wood it only says " I certify this is an original study by J.F. Kensett. Than it is signed by David Johnson .It did not state it hung in the school . sorry. On the front of the frame it has a tag that says, J.F.Kensett . NA

I would welcome any information on this artist I have a original oil painting on wood an framed it is very old on the back it is also signed by Daivd Johnson stating it hung in the school and is an original J.F. Kensett ect. It is 17"x 20" (Beacon Rock, Newport Harbor) I believe is the name of the painting . Thank You

Kensett in Connecticut
The Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury Connecticut will be presenting an exhibition of the paintings of the Connecticut shore painted by John Kensett between 1868 and 1872. The exhibit, and an ambitious publication and series of public programs are scheduled for September 2001.
