Painting by R. Chee 1/17/09 In early 1980's my husband bought me an 8 x 10 picture by R. Chee. We were in St. Ignace, MI. Subject matter quite similar to the Christmas plates described by Jesse Gonzales (4/11/07)However, the father is leading the horse, a small dog is following, and the horse is loaded with what looks like toys...a stick horse, a doll, and a blue truck. The father is wearing a rust, white, and blue striped Navajo blanket and his tall black hat. A young boy is running toward him, the mother has come out of the dome Indian home, and a much smaller youngster has pulled back the door covering to the house and is looking out. Wonderful detail and colors. R.CHEE (with the "C" base pulled over under the "{HEE)printed in lower right hand corner. No other markings are on this work. How would I know if this is a print or original?

Painting by R. Chee About 1965, I purcased a picture done by an R.CHEE. This was in Gallup, NM It is an antelope racing in the wind, jumping over a small hillock with tumble weeds over his head. The size is about 12"x9". Iwould like to know if this is Robert Chee or some ather Chee. I paid $10.00 for this.

Work by Robert Chee while traveling in Arizona/ New Mexico In around 1960 my parents bought a large work (maybe 3' x 2') showing two Navajo men on horseback with a mesa and butte in the background. this painting (I'm sorry I don't know if it's an original or a print, though it is signed and there is no number) is now in England.

I bought an 8 x 10 signed original Chee of a moccasin maker sitting under a tree next to a campfire for $1 at a garage sale in Red Oak, Texas. I have really enjoyed researching the artist.

Navajo Christmas Plates I have two Navajo Christmas edition plates 1971 and 1975 edition. Each plate is painted and signed by R.Chee. The painting discribes his version of Christmas on the reservation. Plate is made AZ clay, hand jiggered on the Potters wheeel and fires to a satin finish off white glaze. The seen is of the father and family. Son on a horse with toys and father pulling the horse as if returning from a trip while mother comes out of the dome indian home.
