Elisabeth Chant Elisabeth A. Chant was a friend of my Grandmother Margaret Taylor Grinager who was also an artist. Margaret's husband was Artist Alex Grinager. I have a note that She exhibited at the Minneapolis Art League. When I get a little time I will go through old family letters, to see what else I might have.

Chant's Spritualism In addition to her art, Elisabeth Chant was very interested in spiritualism, developing her own private mythology through a series of private watercolors and an unpublished manuscript. She interwove the mythologies of ancient Egypt, classical Greece, Arthurian England, the Mayan and Aztec empires, the Old Testament and the fall of Atlantis.
I am currently researching this aspect of Miss Chant's work. If anyone has further information, please, please email me at the address above or at the Lower Cape Fear Historical Society at latimer@wilmington.net.
