Marc Chagall I inherited a Marc Chagall print from 1954. It is numbered in pencil at bottom. signed in the print. It has 5 colors overlapping to create other shades. the subject is of two lovers and a goat. The only image that I can find other than the original watercolor on the internet is when the image was used for a VENCE poster, in the 50's. I would like to know the value of the piece and how I might go about selling it.

Green Spirit Running over Blue Angel Red Sun Red Face? I was given what appears to be a lithograph signed 'Marc Chagall' in the lower left corner. The picture is of a Green Spirit running above a blue Angel towards a red sun setting. There is a large Red Face on the lower right side of the picture.
I would like to know what the actual name of the picture is. I can email you a photo. Please help identify!!! Thanks.

Marc Chagall Lithograph Good Afternoon, I recently purchased a lithograph/print that has a real signature "Marc Chagall"in charcoal or pastel. Not sure. Can be a black crayon. But the edge is too sharp and thin. Came with Autograph COA authenticating it (Herman Darvick). Are Chagall's lithos printed copies with real paints for colors such as pastels, watercolor or other medium? Or plain print, even the colors and still can be called a litho? The entire image should have microscopic dots for colors? Isn't that a print and not a litho at all? Measurements: 121/2 In x 93/8 In. Thank you.

Chagall's "Original Bouquet" I see this lithograph everywhere on sale for $20-40.00 with Chagall's signature on the LEFT HAND SIDE UNDER THE PICTURE. Several years ago I bought a framed "Original Bouquet" that looks like the real thing with the signature IN THE PAINTING on the left hand side. The previous owner said it was purchased from an old hotel that was closing. Might I have something of value here that needs to be looked into and is there anything special I should be looking for? Thanks! Richard

Chagall Lithograph bought at an estate auction I purchased a hand-signed and numbered Chagall lithograph at an estate auction. It is elaborately framed in a thick and heavy silver and gold gilded frame. I think is called "The Wrestling of Jacob and The Angel". The colors are georgeous. It is signed and numbered 62/500. When I look at the signature with a loop, it has solid lines, and I do not see color dots, so I don't think the signature is printed. Does anyone know who would have reproduced in a series of 500 or where I might go to do further research on it?

Chagall signed copies of his artwork Marc Chagall personally signed reproductions of his artwork for autograph collectors. I personally sent him a reproduction of his "Window" at the United Nations; he signed it and sent it back to me from Alpes-Maritimes, France. He also signed numerous lithos removed from artbooks as well as museum postcards for a friend who was, at the time, a wine importer. He had first met Chagall when Chagall designed the 'Chateau Mouton Rothschild' label. They became friends and he visited with the Chagalls many times each year for many years, each time bringing Chagall reproductions to sign, as well as a gift of wine. Chagall signed the reproductions in ink or in crayon, usually black, but white, yellow, or other colors depending upon the lithograph.

Le Verger - Daphnis & Chloe I bought a piece at auction that I thought was an original litho from Le Verger. It is pencil signed by Chagall and was authenticated by Herman Darvick.
I think it is a fake.
Does anyone know if Chagall would have ever signed a copy of Le Verger that wasn't an original litho? The size of mine is 18 3/4 x 12 1/2; not even close the original. Any help is appreciated!

Marc Chagall I have a lithograph of Chagall's that has a cert. of authenticity on the back that is numbered. It is a rendition of Bouquet with Bowl of Cherries. This print however though nicely framed is only in a faded blue. Not the brilliantly colored versions on the web. There is no indication of color ever being in this. Wonder what the deal is with this. I cannot find one like it on the web. Anyone have any info on this? It is signed in the lower right by Chagall.

Chagall To whomever might be kind enough to offer your thoughts or knowledge relative to Marc Chagall lithographs: A friend of mine purchased a Chagall piece for me from an estate auction. I do know what the IMAGE is: daphnis dream and the nymphs -- from the daphnis and chloe suite. oddly enough, the particular piece I received has a photograph of the work with a signed/embossed "authentication" affixed to the back. ...the authentication seems to be relative to the authenticity of Chagall's SIGNATURE.... (sorry, I can not remember who the authenticator is, but he seemed to have an impressive resume of related publications and positions) this certificate does not reference the art by title, medium, etc., but simply references the piece as a reproduction of a work of art by Marc Chagall, ....which is in the authenticator's opinion, signed by Marc Chagall. My question relates to exactly "what" the piece of art likely "is." --I mean, is it/could it be a "litho" ...or is it a mass produced "poster," -- etc. I have found online refeference of this lithograph as approximately 15x21." -- the piece I have is not that large, (I would guess it's more like 9 or 10 x 12." does that mean that what I have is some sort of less valuable "poster reproduction" -- or were "real" lithos actually produced in more than one size? The piece is coming from the estate of a man who lives in a $6+ million home and who seems to have an extraordinary collection of other "authenticated" works, such as Dali pieces authenticated by the Dali archives...this is is why I'd have to wonder if he'd own a fairly worthless "reproduction," (although an authenticated signature may add value to "anything.") --also I am not sure if it would have been common practice for Chagall to sign "reproductions." Can anyone offer any thoughts/likely possibilities at all? I would truly appreciate your comments.

Portait of Maria Lani In 1928, Mar Chagall was in Paris and painted a portrait of Maria Lani. It was exhibited in an exhibition in Paris in 1930 and a catalogue of the exhibition was published by "Editions des Quatre Chemins". I have a scanned copy of of this portrait from the catalogue if you are interested. I would appreciate any feedback on where to locate this picture or any information about the portrait. Many thanks.
