I just bought a Salinas painting. Probably, too cheap to be the real one. It was signed,not dated , no title but the painting is not in this site's database. The texture of the oil used is thin. I don't know if it is real or not. I asked my cousin who is an art instructor in a university but he said to get someone who is an expert on Salinas. If you guys have a real Salinas, please tell me the texture of his painting. Thanks, Alfred

I recently purchased a plate at an antique store. The back of the plate says "Texas Bluebonnets from an original by Porfirio Salinas, copyrighted 1952, Dashby Kilns, West, Texas, First Edition and has a number 13 in gold writing above all this information. The front of the plate is a Texas scene with bluebonnets, oak, cactus and mesquite. I'd just like any information on this item, what it might be worth, was it one in a series of other wildflower plates, etc. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

I just bought a painting signed by this artist. It is dated 1958 and it has a tree to the left and what looks to be some orange flower on a cactus-like plant. Does anyone know what this painting is called? It measures approx 15X20 and is framed. Any info would be helpful.

My parents were given (some 40 years ago) a couple of paintings by an artist repoted to have studied or worked with Salinas. I am trying to coroborate the story. Does anyone know the names of other artists whose style is very akin to Salinas' and who may have been his students? Thanks

The Plates 20 years ago were worth more than they are today. If you are lucky you might get 25 dollars. In the remnants of Salinas estate there were receipts from the manufacture posting huge production numbers for the plates.
