Zacchini Painting with Clown Face I have a Hugo Zacchini painting with a clown face. It is a portraiture style painting with a 'head shot' of the clowns face, and I believe it is oil. My father gave it to me several years ago, and I am curious as to whether I should get it appraised for insurance purposes. Thank you. kpnichols@post.harvard.edu

SEARCHING FOR PAINTING OF LILLIAN LEITZEL Wow, Kelly, I love your warm and loving comments about Pa (Hugo) Zacchini. Thanks so very much! I am sitting here looking at an 8x10 photo of him right now.... I am searching for a painting (or copy of it)done by Hugo Zacchini of aerialist LILLIAN LEITZEL. It is a painting showing her "last flight from earth"... On Friday, Feb 13, 1931, in Copenhagen, Denmark, she fell to the floor and died two days later. Hugo Zacchini painted a picture showing her going up into heaven, surrounded by many angels and she was wearing the broken swivel on her wrist. I have seen a black and white copy of this work, and I would love to see and possibly obtain a copy of the color version, if available. I am captivated by this painting... If anyone can assist or guide, please contact me, Craig Alleman, Knoxville, TN at Email address: tennessee_craig@knology.net
God Bless Craig

clown paintings Kelly, I am a fan of your fathers artwork and have one of his paintings that portray a clown with other circus workers behind him and it appears to have a circus puppy laying on it`s back in front of him and the puppy appears to be dead and the clown has tears in his eyes. I have been searching for ages and finally foud the "askart" site and your letter. If you or anyone could give me more information about this painting and other paintings he has done, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Jim Cook

Pa Zacchini This is how I know him. He was a great friend to my grandmother before my birth and for my first 4 years of life. Crazy enough I remember Ma and Pa Zacchini very vividly. Ma Zacchini made Octopus Soup and loved every bit of it. Pa Zacchini worked outside in his yard doing whatever. I use to love to play near or secretly on his Human Cannon Ball cannon and truck. My mom still has a picture of it somewhere. Pa Zacchini use to tell me that Elvis Presley worked for him when he was a young teenager. I don't remember all the story, just that part. That was the most important. I vaguely remember seeing a picture with him by the same truck that wilted away in the heat of Fontana, CA. The only thing I have other then memories of my second set of grandparents is a charcoal drawing that Pa Zacchini did of me when I was 2 years old. I think it was for my mother's birthday, since it was only 4 days before it. Well, I thought I would share a personal side of Pa... Hugo Zacchini. He was wonderful and gentle and I loved them both dearly. I miss going to visit them. I always knew we were close by the certain trees along the road. I think they were berch.. the type that the bark looks flaky. Tall and they lined the road. That is how I knew we were getting close. It is amazing what you remember at 4. I just don't remember him passing away. I do remember all his paintings that he had all over the house though. Though they weren't blood relatives, with our last name Spadaccini, we could have been. :) Thanks Kelley
