Boats by Harley Brown?
We also, are curious about a certain piece of work from this artist. We are in possession (via auction in Calgary a few years ago) of an original piece with a maritime theme.. If 49 Garthorne Rd., Forest Hill is accurate to this artist, it seems quite removed from what we see most of. Any ideas?

Thank you for the PIZZA!!!!
I don't know if Harley Brown checks this site, but on the off chance, thank you so much for your kindness to a complete stranger. This "pay it forward" moment was the highlight of my week!

Harley and his wife saw a young woman in distress at a local Costco and decided to not only let her go ahead of them in line, but decided to pick up the tab for her pizza order that was headed to her daughters birthday party. They wouldn't let her pay for her order, or give an address to send her thanks. All she was left with was a name, Harley Brown. This is her "thank you" your kindness was much appreciated and will not be forgotten.

Sincerely,
Stephany Bullington

(I found you)

Unknown Prints
Hi,

I have today bought at auction 2 prints signed Harley Brown. I have checked many many sites on the internet for any other prints like the ones I bought. The prints I have are of white, blonde haired young girls, one holding an bunch of daisies, the other a flower in a pot. These are most unlike the paintings etc I am seeing on many web sites. One print has the date '66 after the signature, perhaps the time he was in England? Does anybody now of these kinds of paintings he did?
I am looking forward to receiving any information.
Thanks

Harley Brown tips
I recently spent an evening with a friend at her cabin, I picked up Harley's Eternal truths that she had. I was so inspired. Just what I needed to get motivated in my quest as an artist. I rushed to the bookstore to buy one, alas, not available, then on to Amazon.....Not in my wildest dreams can I pay for one of those. So I am left to just remember what I can and thank him for a wonderful inspiring evening of reading.......

I asked my friend if I could borrow it......She can't find it......do you think? Any one know where I could get one for a reasonable price?????

Harley Brown, if you are out there. Thanks, You are on my favorite artist list. I love someone who will share their secrets....Someone good enough to know most people can't accomplish what you do any way. A new admirer>

Wynonas Song
I am a student portrait painter.
My favorite Harley Brown work is Wynonas Song. I was able to view it on line and worked hard to reproduce an oil painting about 80[%] and learned a great deal. I can't find that image any longer. Could anyone help? I would love to finish this painting. Thanks

bowl
I bought a wooden bowl in Cambridge, England in a wee shop nes Kings College.
It is signed H.K.Brown.
I have always wondered who made it.
The pattern would appear to be a native american one.
Can you help?
PS I love your paintings.
I have a book of Tom Lovell which I cherish.

A Friend
I had the complete honour to meet Harley and Carol Brown years ago as their Insurance Agent...a few delightful meetings over coffee and, yes, the opportunity to receive some of Harley's work. Today they are still proudly displayed and always admired.
To my friends, Harley and Carol, I still think of you and am waiting for that autograph in my "Starving Artist" book.
Wishing you life's blessings and thanking you for sharing a part of your lives with me!
...Jill

Harley's heritage
Quite new to the www experience, I have stared to try and track down people I used to know waybackwhen. This Harley Brown, I am pretty well positive is the same who's delightful sister Julie, I dated back in the late 1950's in Calgary. He did play piano (jazz) and I used to play with him on sax in the family home during my visits. I have a slide somewhere of Harley doing a portrait of a little girl in their backyard, He was pretty good even then. But not so good that he could resist asking for some help and advice on a school art project he was working on at that time...yes, I too am an artist! If anyone can provide his e-mail address I'd like to contact him... Thanks!

I Love his articles in International Artist Magazine
Harley's articles in Int'l Artist Magazine are great! He tells little stories about his experiences with art and you feel like you're not alone. I also love his art!

My parents carried Harley's early works in their Gallery.
My parents had a Gallery in Calgary for 30+ years (no longer operating) and my father (Nori Lott) recognized early on (Late 1960's) the gift that Harley Brown had. Even though Nori has passed away, I know he would be proud and not at all surprised at the recognition that has been given Harley's gift. The depth of expression and history that is in each piece is magical.
