Is it Marin or not?
I have a watercolor charcoal dated "53" that is of a brash tree against a rooftop, a tenement-type house, another house, signature is obscure, not typical Marin but shares elements of some more obscure work. How to identify?

john marin 1946 print
Hi,

We have a John Marin Print 1946 Movement on the Road Maine Print, it just has his signiture on the right hand, so should I mount it when it comes to framing it. We found it in our house when we bought it.

Thank you, Debra

How do I know if it's an original?
I have four John Marin oil paintings.
How can I tell if they are prints or originals?
I bought them at a yard sale for $35.00.
There is a sticker on the back re: The Gallery
There is a page about the artist and a photo of him on the back of one.
There is a title on one: "Maine Islands".

Roullier Gallery in Chicago
A great deal of attention has been focused on Aid's patronage by Stieglitz, while the support of Albert Roullier, owner of an important print gallery in Chicago, is less well known. A more experienced artist who lived in the same Paris building, George C. Aid (1872-1938), taught Marin how to print etchings, and helpfully facilitated his being represented by Roullier, who already represented Aid in America. This support by Roullier continued well after Stieglitz began showing Marin's work in New York.
