Martha Walter
(1875-1976)

Best known for her seemingly spontaneous beach scenes, Walter was a student of Merritt Chase. She was winner of the first Cresson Traveling Scholarship in 1908, which marked the beginning of her years of travel abroad from Europe to North Africa.
