A true artistic child prodigy, Wein at age 12 was enrolled by his mother at the Maryland Institute. At 14, he was the youngest person accepted in a life drawing class at the National Academy of Design. This sculptor and modernist painter later won every major award of the Academy and the National Sculpture Society.
