An early Abstract Expressionist, Still disdained commercial galleries and stockpiled almost all his work in a Maryland barn. Before he died, he said he would bequeath his collection to a city if it would display it in isolation, and Denver agreed. Just opened, the Still Museum holds 2,400 works, none shown since his death, and some never at all.
