His formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Long Beach, a year,s study in Mexico City, and four Cowboy Artists of America seminars. He spent twenty-five years in commercial/technical art and served with the Navy on two tours as a combat artist during Vietnam. He was chosen to be a panelist for the national Endowment for the Arts and has shown his works in such prestigious places as the Salmagundi Club, the Hollyhock House, the White House, the Smithsonian, the Pentagon, and the office of Senator Conrad Burns in Washington, D.C.
