Andrew Nathaniel Wyeth was born in 1948, in Wilmington, Delaware. He is a grandson of N.C. Wyeth and a nephew of Andrew Wyeth. His father was Nathaniel Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth's older brother. His mother was Caroline Pyle Wyeth, a niece of Howard Pyle. He studied with Delaware artist Jean Lanyon, who was recommended by Andrew Wyeth.
Most of his work is done in watercolor. He has also done pen and ink book illustrations. His subjects have included landscapes, still lifes and buildings of historical interest.
He usually signs his paintings "A.N. Wyeth" or "ANW" to avoid confusing his work with his uncle's.
