Born in San Francisco, CA in 1869, the son of artist Charles S. Rouse. Abner worked in his father's shop on Market Street as a commercial illustrator until the earthquake in 1906. In his leisure he painted portraits and landscapes. He died of paresis at Agnew (CA) State Hospital on Oct. 19, 1917.
