Albert Reid

 (1873 - 1955)
Albert Turner Reid was active/lived in New York, Kansas.  Albert Reid is known for illustration, western scene painting, murals.

Biography   Albert Reid


Born Concordia, Aug. 12, 1873 and died New York, NY, Nov. 26, 1955, Albert Reid was a painter, teacher, cartoonist and illustrator.

He studied at the University of Kansas, Lawrence and in New York City at the Art Students League and the New York School of Art.  His teachers included  L. Carrol Beckwith and Walter Appleton Clark.

He worked as a newspaper artist on the Kansas City Star from 1897-99, the Chicago Record in 1899, and the New York Herald from 1899-1900.  For magazines he was an illustrator of Judge in 1900; McClure's, Saturday Evening Post and other magazines from 1901-02.  He was also an illustrator of numerous books.
