Born in Sandwich, Ontario, Canada on June 13, 1908. Fleming came to California with his family in 1910 and settled in Riverside. He studied art in Paris during 1927-28. Returning to California, he established a studio in Riverside and was active until 1938 as an employee of the WPA. Due to the Depression, he abandoned art to grow oranges on a farm near Riverside. He died in Encinitas, San Diego County, CA on June 29, 1983. Exh: SFMA, 1935; Riverside AA, 1936; San Francisco Art Association, 1937.
