Biography   Alice B. Muzzey

Alice B. Muzzey (American, 1865-1943) was an artist, illustrator, craftswoman, teacher, designer/decorator and art-writer primarily known for her landscapes, cityscapes, portraits, outdoor botanical/floral and wildflower scenes and motifs, floral still lifes and still lifes in oil and watercolor.  She also did furniture designing, basketry and textile work. Alice was born August 9, 1865 in Cambridge, MA, and became a self-taught artist with no formal art training.

As a young artist, she moved to Buffalo, NY, and was soon involved in the local art scene. By 1890, she was already a member of and began exhibiting with the Buffalo Fine Arts Academy, the parent organization of the Albright Art Gallery (now the Albright Knox Art Gall   ...  Displaying 750 of 19918 characters.
