One of Lincoln, Nebraska’s most prominent artists, Alice Edmiston lived there for most of her early years, and then after an ‘away period’ of travel and education, she became a permanent resident as a dedicated painter, printmaker and teacher. However, she continued to indulge her curiosity of other people and places by frequent travels including to the East Coast, Arizona, and New Mexico. Her artwork reflects fascination with ghost towns; dramatic, high color landscapes; and pueblo inhabitants of Taos and Santa Fe.
