Following is the obituary of Alvin M. Cohen.

Alvin M. Cohen, 80, who retired in 1992 as assistant advertising art director at The Washington Post, died of congestive heart failure Sept. 19, 2003 at his home in Bethesda.

Mr. Cohen worked at The Post for more than 20 years. Earlier, he worked for the Baltimore Sun, the Hecht Co. and the Ted Shane and Dubrow and Epstein advertising agencies.

Mr. Cohen was a native of Baltimore and a graduate of the University of Maryland. He studied art at the Pratt Institute in New York. He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II in Okinawa and India, where he drew on his art skills to help camouflage planes.
