Biography Amanda Maria Crowe
A Cherokee Indian, she became a sculptor in wood and stone of subjects reflecting her native culture. She earned an M.F.A. from the Chicago Art Institute and also the John Quincy Adams Fellowship for foreign study in 1952.
Crowe created the cover design and illustrations for the 1956 book titled Cherokee Legends and the Trail of Tears.
