Biography Ambrogio Preda
Ambrogio Preda studied 1853-1858 at the Brera Academy in Milan and directed his artistic focus on landscape painting. 1859-1862 he participated together with his uncle, the painter Angelo Trezzini, the Italian wars of unification. After his desertion, he lived 1864-1866 in Geneva and then in Davesco near Lugano. In the 1870s, he participated in several exhibitions in Milan and Turin, and exhibited regularly at the rotating exhibition of the Swiss Kunstverein. Ambrogio Preda was known mainly as a portrayer of landscapes and cities of Ticino and Lombardy.
