Biography   Anatoly Zverev

Born in Moscow, Anatoly Zverev first attended the School of Applied Arts in Moscow.  In 1951, he was released after a short period of study from the Moscow Art School 'In memory of 1905' due to his anarchic behavior.  Along with the artists Oskar Rabin, Vladimir Nemuchin, Dmitry Plavinski and Vasily Sitnikov he founded the 'Russian Nonconformists' group.

In 1917, he joined the 'United Committee of Graphic Artists', which, in 1985, hosted the only solo exhibition of his works during his lifetime in the USSR.  After his death in 1986, works by Anatoly Zverev were exhibited at the Central House of Artists in Moscow. (tm)
