Biography   Andrew Douglas


Andrew A. Douglas was born in Midlothian on April 7, 1870.  He painted landscapes and cattle.  Douglas studied art in Edinburgh and received numerous awards.

He exhibited in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, the provinces and widely abroad especially in France where he was known as Andre Douglas.  Andrew Douglas exhibited 89 works at the Glasgow Institute, 119 at the Royal Scottish Academy, and 20 at the Royal Academy, London.  He died on February 21, 1935 in Edinburgh.
