Ann Mittleman began her artistic career as a a sculptor, studying
with Robert Laurent. She soon turned to painting and has studied
with Tschacbasov, Philip Evergood and Lewis Daniel. Extensive
travel has taken her to all parts of the world, but New York and New
York City, in Rockland County, have remained her homes and most
stimulated her work. She has had seven one-woman shows, beside a
traveling museum show for 29 months. She has exhibited in many
group shows, including the Whitney Museum, and in museums in Berlin,
Germany and Tokyo. She has had her work in the lending service of the
Museum of Modern Art, New York City.
