Annie Van Leeuwen Burnight was born in Minnesota on Jan. 1, 1889. Annie was the wife of Thomas S. Burnight and a resident of Paso Robles by 1920. By 1930 she was a widow and working as an artist. She appears to have been a pupil of Lorenzo P. Latimer whose influence is seen in her work. Her rare landscapes compare favorably to those of her teacher. She died in San Mateo, CA on June 12, 1944.
