Arnaldo Casella Tamburini, Jr. was a socially prominent Italian-American portrait, genre and landscape painter born in Florence, Italy, in 1885. The Tamburinis were a titled and noble family in Florence since the Renaissance with a number of accomplished artists, writers and diplomats of the House of the Count Tamburinis.
Arnaldo, starting at the age of fifteen after study with his artist-father, attended academies in Florence, Milan and Munich, Germany, where he studied with a number of academic masters. Early in his career he was noticed by the King of Italy, Victor Emmanuel II, who requested a portrait, which now hangs in the Italian Royal Collection in Savoy.
