During his lifetime, Arthur Singer illustrated over twenty books, most of them on birds. Among the best known, Field Guide to Birds of North America, Field Guide to Birds of Europe, Birds of the World, the Life of the Hummingbird, Field Guide to Birds of the West Indies, State Birds, Zoo Animals, Birds of Greenland, Cats, etc.
His work (paintings and illustrations are represented in many museums including The American Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, New York Zoological Society, Wendell Gilley Museum, Nassau County Fine Arts, Genesee County Museum, Asa Wright Nature Center, etc. and many private collections including those of Stephe
