Biography Arthur Calame
Jean Baptiste Arthur Calame was the son of Alexandre Calame and learned between 1860 and 1864 the painting. Afterwards, he attended the courses of Oswald Achenbach until 1867 at the Royal Art Academy in Düsseldorf. He preferred to depict the Italian landscape in a kind of Achenbach relative. His works have been represented at numerous exhibitions in Switzerland, Berlin, Dresden, Vienna, Dijon and Munich.
