Born in San Francisco, CA on Feb. 15, 1907. Valencia was raised in an artistic milieu, a pupil of his father Manuel Valencia. While in his twenties, he studied locally with John Garth and at the CSFA. A mechanical engineer, he never pursued an art career and painted in his leisure. He lived in the San Francisco Bay area until 1950 and then moved to Rosemead in southern California where he remained until his demise on Oct. 8, 1991.
