Called the "subway sculptress,"because in her spare time as a toll taker at the Park St. station working her way through the Boston Museum School, she would be molding clay.
She won many awards including from the National Academy of Design.
Her sculpture Boy and Bird is on the Boston's Women Heritage Trail. Many of her prominent pieces can be seen at the Boston Public Garden, Lexington Battlefield, Portsmouth NH and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Her sculpture of Warren G. Harding's dog is in the Smithsonian.
