Biography Beth Rundquist
A resident of East Hampton, New York, Beth Rundquist paints portraits, still lifes, figures and plein-air landscapes. She is an academically trained painter, who borrows liberally from the impressionist tradition to imbue a lushness to her realist paintings.
Beginning with a degree in studio art from Smith College, at Northampton, Massachusetts, Rundquist went on to study at The National Academy of Design and The Sculpture Center. She also studied at regional art schools in New England, including the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts, Vermont Studio Center, and Woodstock School of Art. In the tradition of American artists since the turn of the 19th century, Rundquist also studied in Paris at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts.
