Following is a communication from Julia Viola Burnett/Pabros, whose mother was the owner of a portrait by Blas Fagioni. She writes:
I do have a letter that was sent to my Mother, along with a
picture of another "Blas Fagioni" Portrait. The gentleman who wrote the
letter is a "Mr. Joseph Franklin." In the letter to my Mother he says:
"Dear Ms. Galbraith:
I have noted that in the ""Inventory of American Paintings, NMAA,
Smithsonian Institution-Artist Index"" there is a listing of a Fagioni
Painting that you own. (Julia Dunphy Piercy, Oil 1876.)"
He continues on to say:
"I too have a paint
