Biography Cal Luce
Cal Luce graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1913. After a stint as a newspaper cartoonist, he began his career as a freelance advertising artist, primarily in Cleveland, but also in Chicago and New York City. He served on the faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Art from 1921 to 1923. In the early 1930s he became art director of a leading Cleveland advertising agency. His illustrations appeared in the Saturday Evening Post, the Ladies' Home Journal, and the Literary Digest, and other periodicals and trade publications.
He created illustrations for White Motor Truck and Cadillac as well as for many now-defunct lines of luxury motor cars. In 1934 he began to divide his time between Cleveland and Fort Lauderdale. By the
