Biography   Carlo Brioschi

Carlo Brioschi was an Austrian theater painter.  Also known as Giovanni Carlo Brioschi Aristide, he was the son of theater painter Giuseppe Brioschi  and father of his Othmar Brioschi (1854-1912) and Anton Brioschi (1855-1920).

In 1853 Carlo Brioschi worked in Paris. From 1856 to 1886 he had succeeded his father as head of the artists' studios of the Vienna Court Opera. He was a student of Leopold Kupelwieser (1841-1925), Thomas Ender and Franz Steinfeld (1787-1868) at the Vienna Academy. He created numerous decorations for Austrian and foreign stages.
