Biography   Carol Green

Mixed media artist Carol Green creates sculptural vessels that have a distinctly Asian, organic aesthetic in clay and metals. On Green's clay gourd vessels, the addition of branches and vines of cast bronze transform the jars into modern artifacts.

The Ikebana vessels are constructed of copper and cast bronze, with a bowl for flower arrangement suspended by sculptural bronze vines.

With an adept concentration of textures and imaginative contours, Green's work reminds its owners of the purely organic nature of clay. Her raku fired, mica-embedded earthenware is a textural mix of shimmering glints against a dark clay body, like stars in a midnight sky.
