Born in California on May 31, 1893. Catherine Snell moved to Los Angeles with her family in 1894. After graduating from Pomona College, she did post-graduate work at UC Berkeley under Eugen Neuhaus. She taught art for one year in the Los Angeles public schools and then wed Homer Tuttle and established a home in Monrovia. She died there on Jan. 30, 1971.
