Born in Australia on March 4, 1888. Windas moved to Fresno, CA in 1918. About 1922 he settled in Los Angeles where he remained until his death of pneumonia in Hermosa Beach on Dec. 4, 1966. As well as a painter, he was also a writer of such books as Traditions of the Navy (1942). Exh: Public Works of Art Project, So. Calif., 1934.
